Lantern Docks of Comet Harbor
Mira
“A 12cm-tall mouselike child in a peach scarf, with silver fur, big round ears, and tiny tool satchels at her sides.”
Mira is a bright-eyed dockhand who fits in a child’s two hands and loves the busy hum of the Lantern Docks. She is the kind of small, determined friend who notices everything that shines, rattles, or slips out of place.

The Drifting Dock Platform
One of the harbor’s floating dock platforms breaks loose from its moorings and drifts toward the busy shipping lane, carrying crates, ropes, and a work crew with it. The docks must be reached, steadied, and tied down before it drifts into the path of oncoming traffic.

The Pump and the Nest
A family of tiny lantern-puff fish nests in the warm water beneath the piers, but the harbor’s evening pump system is scheduled to start and will sweep their nest away. The dockworkers must decide how to protect the fish without shutting down the water flow that keeps the harbor from icing over.

The Sliding Supply Barge
At the Lantern Docks of Comet Harbor, a huge supply barge arrives with its brake lines frozen stiff and its cargo of glowing lantern oil starting to slide toward the edge. The whole dock crew has to act fast to keep the barge from tipping and spilling light across the harbor.
