Privacy Policy

Wynkin Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Wynkin children’s storytelling platform. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. We take privacy seriously — especially because our platform is used by and for young children.

Account information — your name and email address when you register.

Usage data — story sessions, chapter progress, character and world choices, quiz responses, and credit activity. This data is linked to your account, not to any child profile.

Payment information — processed entirely by Paddle (our payment provider). We do not store card numbers or bank details.

Technical data — browser type, device type, IP address, and session logs collected automatically to operate and improve the Service.

Wynkin is designed for use by children aged 4–8 under parental supervision, but accounts are held and managed exclusively by adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13.

Children use the Service through a parent’s account. We do not ask children to provide their name, email, or any other personal information. Story choices and session data are stored under the parent account.

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13, please contact us at privacy@wynkin.com and we will delete it promptly.

• To provide, personalise, and improve the Service.
• To generate AI stories — story prompts are sent to OpenAI (text) and Microsoft Azure (narration audio). These services process prompts under their own data processing agreements and do not train on your data by default.
• To process payments and manage subscriptions via Paddle.
• To send transactional emails (receipts, account notices). We do not send marketing emails without explicit opt-in.
• To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and safety violations.

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase — our database and authentication provider (US/EU hosted).
• OpenAI — for AI story text generation. Story prompts include fictional story context only, never personal details.
• Microsoft Azure — for text-to-speech narration audio.
• Paddle — for payment processing. Paddle is the merchant of record for Wynkin subscriptions.
• Law enforcement — when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Story session data is retained indefinitely to support your reading history, but may be purged after 12 months of account inactivity.

You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings. Account deletion removes your profile and personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., payment records).

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate personal data.
• Request deletion of your personal data.
• Object to or restrict certain processing.
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format.

We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your session and remember your theme preference. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via an in-app notice before they take effect.
